Lisa Fleming was already obese when she gave delivery to her first youngster at 15, and her weight solely went up from there. But she knew it was completely time to make a change when, bedridden and weighing 704 lbs., she discovered maggots in the folds of her pores and skin.
For the first time in years, Fleming, 49, goes to go away her mattress — the similar mattress the place her mother died as a result of weight problems — and make the six-hour journey to get weight reduction surgical procedure.

Seven paramedics arrive with a number of emergency autos to get Fleming out of her mattress, down a ramp and into an ambulance.
“The paramedics have to strengthen the ramp they’ll use to get me out of the home,” she says. “I can’t consider it’s come to this. But no less than I’m doing one thing about it earlier than it will get to be too late.”
And once they ask Fleming if she’s able to go, she says that she “ain’t ever gonna be prepared,” however tells them to go for it, as a result of she is aware of “for a truth” that she’s “sick of this rattling mattress.”
Using her mattress sheets and a dolly, the paramedics painfully raise Fleming out of her mattress.
“Oh lord, please don’t allow them to kill me,” she says.
